Mumbai Local Trains, Central And Western Railways Will Fully Operate From January 29

CR and Western Railway has decided to increase the suburban railway services from existing 1,580 to 1,685.

Mumbai : Public Relations Department issued a press relief, about the decision of CR to increase the train service from 1580 to 1685.

After Western Railway, Central Railway also planned to do it from 29 January.

Tuesday WR has also decided to increase existing suburban 1201 to 1367 services which will be effected from Friday.

Earlier this week a meeting was held by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhab Thakeray at his local bungalow to discuss about the situation.

Post the meeting Government told that a full resumption of local trains in all Mumbai will be taken soon.

Currently, such providing essential services including women only can travel by local trains in Mumbai region. Others have been requested not to rush to railway station.

Also people have been advised to obey all rules of SOPs(Standard Operating Procedure) related to COVID-19 pandemic during travel by trains.

According to a senior state government official, various plans are being developed to open up travel by all over Mumbai. May be initially it is not possible to access all over, but a decision will be taken soon.

Local trains are called the life line of Mumbai and in normal days around 80 lakh people travel in daily basis through local trains in different parts of the city. This services is divided into three lines: Western line runs from Churchgate to Virar, Central line is from CST to Kalyan and the third line is Harbour Line.

Now we will hope local train service will be resumed all over Mumbai as the situation becoming normal day by day.
